GlossaryAI for interpreters
GlossaryAI FAQ for interpreters
Answers about GlossaryAI files, languages, privacy, AI-generated terminology and preparation workflow.
Do I need to upload a document?
No. GlossaryAI can prepare from a description such as “neurology congress for physicians”. Documents improve source-grounded terminology when they are available, but they are optional.
Which file formats are supported?
PDF, PPTX, DOCX, TXT and XLSX files with readable text. Upload up to five relevant files within the total upload limit shown on the preparation page.
What languages can I use?
You choose the glossary source and target languages when you start. The briefing and notes follow the source language; glossary translations and explanations follow the target language.
Can I edit the glossary?
Yes. Authorized users can add, edit or remove entries directly on the preparation page. This does not use an AI call.
Does GlossaryAI read images in slides?
It extracts selectable text. Text embedded only inside an image is not automatically transcribed, so important image-based terminology should be provided separately.
What happens to my uploaded files?
Original files are deleted after each extraction attempt. Your assignment context, file names and generated preparation may remain so you can return to the job. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does the system search the web?
Only public URLs deliberately entered in the assignment context can enable web search during the initial preparation. URLs found inside uploaded files do not activate it. Terminology expansion and specific-term translation use only the saved briefing and glossary.
How accurate are the translations?
They are AI-generated and can be wrong or incomplete. Review important terminology against client materials, established usage and your own professional judgment before interpreting.
Can I use confidential documents?
Only upload material you are authorized to process. Consider your client and professional obligations before sending confidential or personal information. The original upload is deleted after extraction, but generated text can remain in the preparation.
How long does preparation take?
Usually about a minute, although large documents and busy periods can take longer. The page tells you when the preparation is ready.
Is there a free trial?
Your first preparation is free without an account. Registered users currently receive ten free preparations; paid access is available when you need more.
Can I return to an old preparation?
Preparations saved to an account remain available until you delete them, including after a subscription ends. Anonymous preparations expire after 30 days and can become inaccessible sooner if the creating browser session is lost.
What should I do after GlossaryAI generates the result?
Read the briefing first, then review names, acronyms and high-consequence translations. Remove irrelevant terms and add client-preferred wording. The interpreter preparation guide provides a practical review sequence, and the typical assignment example shows the result in context.
